Welcome to the Adair Lab!

Our research uses a combination of cell biology, molecular biology, chemistry and bioinformatics to develop new gene therapy treatments and protocols for the treatment of many different genetic and infectious diseases. Our ultimate goal is to develop safe, cost-effective, and clinically relevant applications for gene therapy that can be implemented worldwide

The Adair Lab is headed by Dr. Jennifer E. Adair, PhD, at the Fred Hutch and is part of the Program in Transplantation Biology, as well as the Seattle Gene Therapy Group. We work in the following areas of research:

  • Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation/Gene Therapy
  • Retroviral Integration Site Analysis
  • Portability of gene therapy protocols

We also provide support to other labs in the following areas:

  • Gene therapy clinical trials for:
    • Glioblastoma multiforme
    • Fanconi anemia (A complementation group)
    • HIV/lymphoma
    • X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency
    • Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome
  • Gene modified cell tracking in vitro and in vivo
  • Translation of laboratory protocols into clinical protocols for gene therapy
