HATCH LAB

WELCOME TO THE HATCH LAB

The nuclear envelope (NE) has long been visualized as a static membrane barrier that separates the chromatin from the cytosol. However, recent work challenges this model of the interphase NE. The interphase NE is capable of extensive membrane dynamics, including rupture and repair. Our goals are to understand the molecular mechanisms that initiate NE disruption in interphase and how defects in NE stability impact cancer development and disease pathogenesis.
